Our Gonic store employee Anthony and his family got the opportunity of a lifetime last week and were invited to a team practice by Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics! On Saturday November 5th, Anthony and his family traveled to Waltham, Massachusetts to the Celtics practice facility to watch the practice and to also have a meet and greet with Marcus Smart! Watching the practice and talking basketball with Coach Brad Stevens and General Manager / Former Celtic, Danny Ainge was amazing, but Anthony said how Marcus treated his family was the highlight of the day! Marcus signed autographs for the whole family and even signed a pair of his shoes for them! Marcus was caring and genuine from the moment they walked through the door. He asked questions and was interested in Anthony's family. Marcus thanked them for being fans and for their supporting him, as well as, making the drive down. Anthony made sure to point out that there was no publicity to be had. It was just a professional athlete giving back to his fans. Marcus demonstrated how every professional athlete should act with or without media present. Anthony and his family are Marcus's #1 Fans and it was amazing to spend time with him. While watching the practice they also got to meet Isaiah Thomas, Jonas Jerebko, Walter McCarty, and many more! It was a day Anthony's family will never forget! Go Celtics!
